We are pleased to share details for this years USS Macdonough Reunion, which will be held May 3-7 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Our group rate includes access to the hospitality room as well as a private buffet breakfast served there each morning. The Courtyard by Marriott is located within the Gateway Complex, which also includes the Wyndham Conference Centre, Gateway Family Diner, and R/C Gateway Theater 8. Hotel guests receive discounted movie tickets at the theater.

Guests arriving on May 1 or 2 will receive a breakfast voucher for the hotel’s Bistro Café, redeemable for breakfast items during your stay.

Before the reunion officially begins, you may wish to explore the many shops, restaurants, and historic sites throughout Gettysburg—or enjoy a movie at the nearby theater. All reunion activities have been arranged through Gettysburg Group Reservations (GGR), who also offer an optional 90‑minute ghost tour. Reservations may be made by calling 1‑800‑447‑8788.

Reunion Schedule

Sunday We will begin our gathering with a Welcome Dinner at 4:00 p.m., featuring a hotel‑catered Burger Buffet and time to reconnect with shipmates and friends.

Monday Our group will visit the WWII American Experience Museum. The tour includes some walking, with ample opportunities to rest. Following a film presentation and lunch at the museum, there will be time to explore the Motor Pool before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.

Tuesday The day will be dedicated to the Gettysburg National Military Park. The museum portion includes some walking, and the Cyclorama experience requires standing for approximately ten minutes. Afterward, we will board a coach bus for a two‑hour guided battlefield tour. Lunch will follow at the Farmhouse Barn Resort.

Wednesday The Business Meeting and close of the silent auction will take place at 2:00 p.m. We will meet in the hotel lobby at 5:00 p.m. for a group photo. Please note that there will not be a bar at the banquet; beverages may be purchased beforehand at the Bistro Café. The Banquet Dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Conference Centre, located directly behind the Courtyard.

Thursday The reunion concludes following the breakfast buffet. Guests extending their stay will receive a breakfast voucher for the Bistro Café.

For those interested, an optional group tour to Hershey, Pennsylvania has been arranged, including visits to Chocolate World and the Hershey Story Museum.
